2019 CPR Saves Celebration Presentation

On December 5th 2019, The Wayne First Aid Squad celebrated 2 CPR Saves/Survivors, both patients (pictured) were in cardiac arrest and were successfully defibrillated. Both patients beat the odds and walked out of the hospital. Early bystander CPR and Early defibrillations were the keys to success.

The Patient on the right (pictured), was at Terrain Fitness in Wayne NJ on July 30th 2019. The patient felt faint and collapsed. Employees of Terrain Fitness recognized the patient was unresponsive and not breathing. They applied their AED and shocked the patient. On arrival the patient was conscious and talking. Luckily, Terrain Fitness bought an AED only 30 days prior to this event. This patient is alive due to bystander CPR and early defibrillation.

The Patient on the left (pictured), was at the YMCA in Wayne NJ on September 12, 2019. The patient collapsed while on the treadmill. An employee of Wayne Township was at the gym that day and used the YMCA’s AED to shocked the patient. On arrival the patient was conscious and talking.

Bystanders who shocked the patient with the AED where given CPR Save pins & the two men who were saved received coffee mugs that say, "The Beat Goes On".
